College of Lake County, Grayslake, IL   1999 – Present

Associate Professor of Computer Arts-Tenure / College Art Gallery Curator

Provide strategic direction in developing 70 plus students’ digital art skills each semester. Implement various hands-on digital media techniques in animation, video art and sound. Oversee curriculum development and design of computer art courses. Invite guest speakers. Prepare students for entry into four-year colleges and graduate programs, while encouraging them to develop portfolios for exhibitions.

  • Played an integral role in establishing the Digital Media and Design certificate program.

  • Developed and added seven additional digital media courses in a continuous effort to improve the art program, excite and encourage more students to enroll despite downturns in the economy.

  • Successful in maintaining departmental budget; eliminating the need for educational grants.

  • Secured $15,000 in funding for the art department when program was in the midst of expanding.

  • Improved faculty relations and worked collectively with digital media department in developing a highly structured curriculum using own digital art courses.

  • Recognized for producing more graduates than any other department with a pass rate of 90% per year.

  • Selected as a mentor for high school students as they make their transition into college; providing ongoing counseling at various high schools.

Digital Media Specialist

Served as the key producer of all multimedia and video productions for various educational departments and external private corporations. Managed state-of-the art media equipment, purchasing and repairs.

  • Supervised a team of student workers and developed a highly extensive digital media training program.

  • Successfully integrated technology into the university’s regular curriculum.

  • Provided additional software and hardware training for faculty resulting in increased efficiency.

 

The Art Institute of Atlanta  1997 – 1998

Digital Media Instructor

Provided daily instruction in video production and digital sound courses. Lectured in film style video and documentary production. Worked collaboratively with instructors and other advisors in developing innovative learning environments for the digital media curriculum.

  • Served on the professional audio-video production committee to ensure a high standard of educational practices utilizing current technology.

  • Created and implemented real-world projects to provide hands-on exposure in digital media production.

 

Atlanta College of Art

Developed student’s digital art techniques primarily utilizing LightW­­­­ave 3D software. Designed

concepts in digital media and demonstrated the possibilities of integrating traditional studio art practices.
